The soundtrack for the new movie Mamma Mia!

ET's Brooke Anderson caught up with the beloved screen legend on the red carpet at the London premiere of the musical comedy at the Hammersmith Apollo on Monday, and Streep dished on what it was like working with the iconic performer. Here We Go Again has worked in the industry for decades, amassing quite an impressive fortune along the way.

"The first one was a good film, we were all happy about that", he said, adding that the studio had long pushed for another film to be made.

But the film writers' idea of making the movie a sequel and prequel at the same time helped change their minds, he said.

It's pretty safe to say that this will hardly be the last time we see her in the spotlight, since she seems to live there.

"I laughed out loud many times when I read (the script's first draft)".

The new album features the vocal talents of Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Cher, and more.

Streep laughingly explained that Cher "appropriately" plays her mother in the long-awaited sequel - which is once again based on the classic hit songs by Swedish pop group ABBA. It also has touching moments, cast members said.

Brosnan called the film " a great antidote to the times we lives in".

"I think people are going to be transported to this lovely Greek island with all these beloved characters and all these fabulous songs". "It's kind of a miracle", Ulvaeus said of the band's success.
