Nathan Fillion Is (Finally) Nathan Drake in Uncharted Fan Film

Fillion, of course, has the title role of Nathan Drake, but he's not the only standout member of the cast.

Because sometimes dreams really do come true, Nathan Fillion just made his wise-cracking, peril-escaping debut as Nate Drake, the star of the Uncharted video game series.

When the Naughty Dog video game dropped back in 2007, the physical similarities between Fillion and Drake were pretty apparent.

"Fan film" is imperative stuff here, both for its loudly unofficial status and for its limited scope, but there's no arguing the production's love of the game series.

Sony announced an Uncharted adaptation from director Shawn Levy last May-starring Spider-Man: Homecoming nugget Tom Holland-which would build around a sequence from 2011's Uncharted: Drake's Deception that followed a young Nathan Drake in his pre-treasure hunter pick-pocket days.

Drake is nothing without his stalwart mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan, who's played here by none other than Stephen Lang of Avatar and Terra Nova fame.

Another series-authentic trait: the 15-minute runtime is mostly composed of conversations and sarcastic one-liners, not fisticuffs or gunplay.

Director Allan Ungar and actor Fillion worked together to make the above, 14 minute fan film.

"This is something I've wanted to do, but more importantly, something I've wanted to see for a long time", Fillion said on his Instagram.

Fillion was thankful of Ungar for letting him scratch this itch, and also gave a shout out to Naughty Dog for creating the archetype. Thank you fans, for your excellent taste.
