'Skyscraper' stands tall on Rock-solid foundation

It has been Rawson Marshall Thurber's ambition to make Skyscraper for a very, very long time.

Appropriately enough, in between press interviews, Johnson met up with "French Spiderman" Alain Robert, who scaled the city's 165-meter-tall Four Seasons Hotel this past Saturday morning using mostly his hands and a pair of climbing shoes.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson doesn't have any immediate plans to run for US president; however, that doesn't mean he's completely abandoned the idea.

"I love that idea".

Ten years after losing a leg in a botched hostage rescue mission, former Federal Bureau of Investigation operative Will Sawyer (Johnson) has settled down with his own security consultancy company (though we never see any of his employees), a handsome wife (Neve Campbell, who plays a surgeon but doesn't save anyone on-screen), and two young kids.

He also beats the tar out of several dozen bad guys, who have set the fire in order to extort something from the building's owner (Chin Han) ensconced in a penthouse panic room that totally impregnable. "The "Die Hards" and "Towering Inferno" and "The Fugitive" and "Cliffhanger".

Turns out that launching one's political career by seeking the highest office in the land and creating a major political campaign from scratch takes time that Johnson just doesn't have at the moment. It's 'Skyscraper.' It's the biggest skyscraper in the world.

But rather than just asking him to do the same role as he has done before, Thurber wanted Johnson's Will Sawyer to be a much different character.

As the words grace the screen, the audience smiles and nods, because most of the film is indeed "stupid".

"Dwayne and I talked about that every day". He is battered and bruised and bloodied. Johnson has since went on to primarily focus on his acting career-starring in a number of feature films over the years and there is yet another film that he is the lead for which hits theaters in the USA on July 13th entitled "SkyScraper".
