Fortunately though, Instagram will keep the identity of the users private when the post is shared in a new story, although the original user can still see the identity of the person that asked the question. This interactive new option was created to make it easier for users to engage with friends and followers on the platform.

Instagram's latest feature, Questions Sticker, inserts a Reddit AMA (ask me anything)-like format into Stories - its ephemeral photo sharing component.

The questions sticker is now globally available as part of Instagram version 52 on iOS and Android. How will you be using the new Questions sticker? Decorate the story however you like then hit "share". When friends see the sticker, they can tap it to reply - and they can reply as many times as they want, right from the sticker. Users can then tap the response to add their own answer, which can be posted as a new story.

"It's a fun new way to start conversations with your friends so you can get to know each other better", a blog post from Instagram about the update said.

But don't worry, while users will be able to see who asked them the question, their question will show up anonymously when made public in your story. Users can then type in their prompt and add the sticker to the photo or video being posted to their story. Just swipe up to show your options and click on the Questions sticker.

In October a year ago Instagram first added the polling feature to Stories to allow your followers to weigh in on your everyday dilemmas.
