While the new allegations may offer some light into Whitney's dark past, her mother, Cissy Houston claims she and her family are horrified by the awful rumor.

Whitney Houston's family is "horrified" over new claims regarding the late singer's life.

We can not, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne's sister) molested two of my three children.

"I chose to share the story so that people might understand that throughout her entire life Whitney carried this with her, and the weight of it was vast", said Jones. "She used to say, 'I wonder if I did anything to make her think I wanted her, ' and I'd say, 'Stop it. Stop it".

In a statement to People magazine on behalf of herself and her niece, singer Dionne Warwick, Cissy Houston revealed they first learned of the claims two days before the documentary Whitney, by Scottish filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, premiered at Cannes in May.

Through a series of interviews with 60 of the singer's closest friends and family, a new documentary simply titled Whitney hopes to provide some much needed answers about her spiral from soul singer to troubled soul. Those who knew her best speak candidly about Whitney's struggles with drugs, motherhood, and the trappings of fame that ultimately contributed to her untimely death in 2012.

"Neither Whitney nor Dee Dee are here to deny, refute or affirm..." Whitney's brother, Gary Garland-Houston, also says Whitney had been molested by Dee Dee as a child, as had he, in the film. "Neither I, Dionne, nor my son Michael who was very close to his sister, and in the film is VERY candid about their drug use, has ever heard these allegations; we have never heard anything remotely connected to the crimes charged against Dee Dee in the film".

The Whitney documentary is now available to see in theaters now.
