The 13-year-old boy appeared before the Children's Court this morning.

A second boy has been arrested in connection with the murder of Ana Kriegel.

The boy attended court with his solicitor and sat beside his mother during the 10-minute hearing.

Two juvenile males were arrested following the death of the 14-year-old girl in May.

The boy made no reply to the charge and was remanded in custody to the Oberstown detention centre to appear in court again on 18 July.

The boy appeared before Judge John O'Connor and was accompanied by his mother.

Anastasia - or Ana as she was known - was found dead at a disused home off the Clonee Road near Lucan in May.

Anastasia was last seen alive in St Catherine's Park on Monday May 14, about one kilometre away from where her body was discovered three days later.

Neither boy can be named or identified due to their ages.

He said the child had a right to a fair trial and also, he stressed, the right to anonymity, a protection provided by the Children's Act and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

He said that nothing should be published online that could lead to his identification including his school and address.
