According to the police, Junaid and his friend have been detained for punching a protester outside the Avenfield flats in London.

The protesters notified the police officials present in the vicinity who took Junaid and Zakaria into custody and shifted them to a nearby police station.

Junaid has come forward and said that they spat at him and then proceeded to attack him.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have left for Heathrow Airport from where they will be flying to Dubai.

The United Kingdom (UK) police on Thursday arrested Maryam Nawaz's son Junaid Safdar and Hussain Nawaz's son Zikeriya in London over their involvement in the clashes outside the Avenfield flats, media reports said. One protester threw a shopping cart at a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's United Kingdom chapter while another was seen hurling eggs at the door.

Additionally, Captain (retd) Safdar, Sharif's son-in-law, was given a one-year sentence without any fine.

It is pertinent to note here that an accountability court on July 6, handed Nawaz Sharif 10 years as jail time for owning assets beyond income and 1 year for not cooperating with NAB in the Avenfield properties corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The move angered members of the PML-N's United Kingdom chapter who then broke into a brawl with two men distributing the candies. I won't let them go to jail.

The media regulator's order banning live telecast of speeches by political leaders against the judiciary, armed forces and the political leadership, is seen as an effort to black out Nawaz Sharif when he lands in Pakistan tomorrow evening.

"He is convicted, so he has to be arrested first and can not be allowed to roam around in the city", Zafar said.
