Eight-division boxing champion Manny Pacquiao arrived the Malaysian capital on Monday night, pronouncing himself ready for Sunday's WBA welterweight title fight against Lucas Matthysse. When they arrived here two days later, Matthysse found out that he was a shade taller than the Filipino ring icon though they were both listed as 5-foot-6.

The Matthysse-Pacquiao fight broadcast on ESPN+ will begin at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Pacquiao and Matthysse will square off at the Axiata Arena on Sunday, July 15th. "I've adapted to the time difference here", he said, adding that he felt at home in Malaysia.

Matthysse (39-4, 36 KOs) and his team already arrived in Malaysia last week to get acclimated to the time and humidity. Argentina is almost 16,000 km away. "I will do my best", he told reporters.

The 35-year-old Matthysse is deemed as a risky opponent for Pacquiao, who is making his ring return a little over a year after losing his WBO title to Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia.

After 10 rounds of sparring with Marvin Quintero on Saturday, Matthysse claimed that he has made the weight, through a healthy diet consist of fish, chicken, spaghetti, vegetables and fruits, and will just keep working to maintain it till fight time.

Matthysse had captured the WBA title by knocking out Tewa Kiram of Thailand last January in Los Angeles and his performance didn't escape the eye of Pacquiao, whose desire to fight the South American was first relayed to the Bulletin in early February during an interview in his Senate office.
