What do you get an MMA fighter for his 30th birthday? Socks? Bandages? A new shelf for his trophy cabinet?

Aspencrow - also known as Edgar Askelovic - said: 'It is an honour that Conor has accepted this as a gift from me.

McGregor has not fought since his boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.

He's due to appear in court in NY later this month to face charges of assault and criminal mischief.

Valued at £50,000 ($66,000), the statue, described as hyerperrealistic, will be unveiled at London's JD Malat Gallery on McGregor's 30th birthday, July 14.

Speaking to the BBC on Tuesday, Aspencrow said he had been inspired by McGregor's "strong character".

"About Tony Ferguson, I don't know", Nurmagomedov said. "It's normal that someone made a decision to immortalise him in this way".

Aspencrow admitted he had neither met nor spoken to McGregor directly, communicating instead via one of the fighter's friends. "I don't know what's going to happen - is he going to get fined, be on probation, is he going to get this, that - when that is over with, then we will start talking about him fighting".

The "hyper-realistic" piece depicts McGregor, nicknamed The Notorious, entombed in rock.

The current UFC lightweight champion is slowly but surely preparing to defend his strap this fall and has a few names in mind for his next potential title defense but they are not the clear-cut names you might think of due to the fact that McGregor and GSP are now not available due to various issues. "You can see him as a prisoner, or a God, or just as a person".

The UFC president was nearly through an entire post-fight press conference at a major pay-per-view event without getting a Conor McGregor question when it arrived at the very end. "I feel he's my soulmate".
