Court docs: Stormy Daniels arrested at OH strip club after fondling officers

OH law prohibits anyone who isn't a family member from touching a nude or semi-nude dancer. Daniels was released on $6,000 bond, but has been hit with three charges related to an obscure 2007 law that was spearheaded by conservatives and meant to restrict sexual activity and limit strip club operating hours. There has to be higher priorities!

Mr Avenatti tweeted that Ms Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, had been performing "the same act she has performed across the nation at almost 100 strip clubs".

Daniels has been embroiled in a legal controversy with Trump over their alleged 2006 encounter, which he has repeatedly denied. "We will fight all bogus charges", Avenatti said on Twitter.

Avenatti said his client was taken into custody while performing at a strip club in Columbus. He went on to allege it was a politically motivated arrest.

He initially said he used his own money to pay Daniels and was not reimbursed by Trump.

The Sirens venue tweeted last month to say Ms Daniels would make two "exclusive appearances" there on the nights of 11 and 12 July.

The documents did not indicate if the officers were in plain clothes or in uniform at the time.

Stormy Daniels was arrested Wednesday night over an incident at a strip club. Columbus Police confirmed to the Columbus Dispatch the law is rarely enforced in the state of OH despite being on the books for the past 11 years. Reached by The Washington Post early Thursday, a representative for Sirens strip club refused to comment.

In April, Daniels filed suit in federal court in NY charging that Trump had defamed her.

Daniels made headlines worldwide over revelations of an alleged affair with Trump in 2006 - and for the $130,000 she said she received from his attorney in 2016 in exchange for her silence.

In February, Cohen, the longtime personal lawyer for Trump admitted he paid US$130,000 (NZ$177,500) to the adult-film star, after previously dismissing stories about the payment.

Daniels, 39, filed a lawsuit against Trump and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, late past year, seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement that she says barred her from speaking about the alleged affair.
