The duke said: "A new generation is enjoying the magic of this World Cup run". The English claim to have invented the game, or at least the modern version of it.

France's forward Kylian Mbappe runs with the ball during the Russian Federation 2018 World Cup semifinal football match between France and Belgium at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Saint Petersburg on July 10, 2018.

Grabar-Kitarovic, a known football fan, attended Croatia's matches against Denmark and Russian Federation. Following England's win against Sweden on Saturday, Katie posted a snap of "her guys" embracing. And the last time it played in the final four was 20 years ago, in 1998.

Charlie Clarke tweeted: "England needs to get to the semi finals more often. our office have all sacked off work and now we're at the pub amazing" and Shona Fran wrote: "Banked out from work 5 hours early, GET ME TO THE PUB ENGLAND". A separate video led to a Croatian coach being sent home.
