Calcio Mercato, who cite claims from Paris United, reports that Chelsea are hoping that they can do enough to keep the player at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.

Chelsea have been clear about not selling the midfielder this summer but Paris Saint-Germain are pulling off every trick in the book to get their hands on the Frenchman.

Jack Staplehurst of the Daily Star wrote that Kante will be offered a new five-year deal worth £200,000 per week, having arrived two years ago from Leicester City for £32 million.

Kante has established himself as one of the world's best defensive midfielders at Chelsea.

'People around this table know how profound my respect is for Arsene Wenger, but N'Golo Kante participated in the retirement of Arsene Wenger, ' Favard told L'Équipe du Soir.

"The day that Wenger decided not sign Kante, he committed career suicide".

"In these few years, many wonderful things have happened to me in football and I really appreciate that", said Kante, with typical understatement.

A further six players at the World Cup has managed 20 or more tackles and interceptions, including Sweden's Viktor Claesson (11 tackles, 14 interceptions), Diego Godin (10 tackles, 13 interceptions) and Casemiro (17 tackles, 6 interceptions).
