Departing his New Jersey golf club on Sunday afternoon, Trump told reporters he was still making up his mind.

Trump is scheduled to announce his decision at 9 p.m. Monday, and it is unclear how much of the last-minute maneuvering is geared to keeping the president's choice a secret.

"Beyond the procedure, beyond the gamesmanship, it is a life-and-death important decision to be made by this court on so many issues", Senator Dick Durbin of IL, the body's No. 2 Democrat, said Sunday on NBC. Few have had any sleep in Bedminster, N.J., as deliberations continue over the pros and cons of the potential nominees, and no one is sure which way the president is going to go, the source said. In the run-up to his announcement, the president had targeted four top contenders from a list of 25 administration-approved judges, former judges and one member of Congress, as curated by Leonard Leo, executive vice president of the Federalist Society and Trump's top Supreme Court adviser.

Trump's eagerness to tease maximum drama out of the nomination he promised Sunday that an "exceptional person will be chosen" has drawn criticism from opposition ranks.

Lee, R-Utah, wouldn't discuss details of the conversation other than to confirm he wasn't Trump's choice but that he would attend the president's prime-time announcement of his pick.

"There's nobody that President Trump could nominate from a conservative event that will get many Democratic votes", he continued. But the situation appeared to remain fluid. Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia judge Thomas Hardiman, the runner-up in last year's search, rounds out the final four. He financed his law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center by driving a taxi. But his supporters cite his experience and wide range of legal opinions. When I was 10, she went to law school and became a prosecutor.

Kavanaugh, 53, has served since 2006 on the influential U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. A self-described introvert, Kethledge co-authored a book, "Lead Yourself First", in which he talks about how some of the world's great leaders learned from solitude and quiet.

Broadcast networks scrambled to clear room on their primetime schedules at 9 PM in order to cover Trump's announcement, ABC interrupting summer reality TV workhorse The Bachelorette, to carry Survivor: Scotus. On Saturday, he tweeted that a "Big decision" was coming soon.

"Well, it's still - let's say it's the four people".

During the last Supreme Court confirmation of Colorado's Neil Gorsuch, Republicans changed Senate rules to eliminate filibusters for Supreme Court nominees and confirm them by simple majority.

"Fundamentally, it's been a precedent for a long time", she said.

Hardiman, a runner-up when Trump chose Neil Gorsuch as his high court nominee past year, received a wave of new attention in the weekend discussions, according to two people briefed on the matter but not authorized to speak publicly about it.
