The OnePlus 6 was launched in India in May and it has performed exceedingly well in the market.

The OnePlus 6 launched with three storage variants - 64GB, 128GB and 256GB - with the highest storage option only available on the Marvel Avengers limited edition of the device. With the introduction of the new colour variant, the company has extended the variant range of its latest flagship device. The phone can be picked up from Amazon India only at the moment, but starting July 14, it can also be purchased from oneplus.in and OnePlus exclusive offline stores.

The new configuration is available only on the midnight black color option, while the other color options now top out at 128GB. The device also gets an added anti-reflective layer on top of the glass that allows more light to reach the bottom layers of the glass before being reflected off the device.

If you're stilling mulling over whether to pick up the OnePlus 6, you've now got an extra color option to consider, as the limited edition red variant of the handset is officially available from today. The handset also has a red, mirror-like fingerprint sensor that sits at the back.

Express.co.uk has been lucky enough to get an early preview of the OnePlus 6 Red edition and there's plenty to like about this glossy new smartphone. Last week, the company had announced a similar offer on OnePlus 6 smartphones, but that was supposed to end on July 15 - which meant it would not apply to the OnePlus 6 Red Edition that went on sale for the first time the next day. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS 5.1, the smartphone will receive updates for Android P as well. The secondary front facing camera is a 16MP sensor that can shoot in portrait mode. For safety, the company has incorporated face unlock and fingerprint reader at the rear. The handset packs a 3300 mAh battery with fast charging support.
