One of the most popular free-to-play action games on the current market is Warframe, the third-persion co-op shooter from Digital Extremes available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Warriors of blade and gun - masters of the Warframe armor.

Digital Extremes Studio Manager Sheldon Carter adds: "Cross-play requires all platforms to be updated simultaneously, which is not what our development schedule allows for at the moment". Warframe is also known for it flexible mod system, the ability to join clans, and massive open worlds.

For those unaware, Panic Button has been porting a lot of titles over to the Nintendo Switch lately, with the developer's most recent project being the creation of a Switch version for Bethesda and MachineGames' Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. Those anxious about Warframe's transition to Switch should rest easy, as many have praised Panic Button's work with both Wolfenstein 2 and DOOM on the system.

As a reminder, Panic Button has been responsible for a number of Nintendo Switch ports.

The game has received various expansions since its release in 2013, including the Plains of Eidolon expansion in 2017, and the The Sacrifice expansion last month.

There's no release date for the Switch version now, but you can check out the announcement trailer below.
