It's time for Prince Louis, the third child of the Duke of Cambridge Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, to make his big public debut.

Palace officials say Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip won't attend.

They include the Duchess' cousin Lucy Middleton and Guy Pelly, a childhood friend of William's.

The Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, London, was used for Prince George's christening in 2013.

The new Royal Baby was born on April 23, and today, his parents announced who will act as godparents.

There for the ceremony were Louis's grandfather the Prince of Wales, step-grandmother the Duchess of Cornwall and maternal grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton.

Louis' brother, Prince George was baptised at the very same church at St James Palace, the Chapel Royal in 2003 while Princess Charlotte was christened at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in 2015, the same church as Princess Diana.

But most of the buzz surrounding the event has to do with who will be named as Louis' godparents.

Meghan topped off her look with an olive green Stephen Jones hat and matching pointed heels while Prince Harry looked dashing in a dark suit.

George, who is almost five, is expected to join his family for the 40-minute church service, but royal nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo could be on hand in her traditional Norland uniform to look after her charges. Carter's sister-in-law, Sophia Carter, is a godmother to Princess Charlotte.

The garment-made of "fine Honiton lace lined with white satin"-was also worn for all subsequent royal christenings, including that of the Queen, her children and seven of her grandchildren".

Prince Louis was christened using water from the River Jordan - which is considered by Christians to be holy as it was the river where Jesus was baptized.

The Lily Font is another piece of royal history present at Louis's christening.

After the ceremony, the guests will descend on a private tea afternoon at Clarence House and indulge in some desserts - including a tier from Kate and William's 2011 wedding cake.
