Captain Marvel star Brie Larson shared an image Sunday commemorating the end of principal photography on the upcoming Marvel Studios blockbuster.

Below which is a drawing of a rocket ship with a picture of Larson inside, being followed by a cat in a flying saucer who must be Chewie, Carol Danvers' cat. Director Ryan Fleck too shared an Instagram post, which read, "Friday, July 6th, 2018".

Of course, true to Marvel Cinematic Universe form, no secrets or hints were given away from this photo.

Marvel had previously selected Taika Waititi, also from an indie movie background, to direct 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok", which ended up banking $854 million in worldwide box office takings, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

After being pushed back multiple times, Captain Marvel has a release date of March 6, 2019.

Along with Larson, the cast will include Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Gemma Chan as Kree geneticist Minn-Erva and Ben Mendelsohn as an unknown villain character.

Neither actor has suddenly become vain and made a decision to add a lot of visual effects make-up for the movie, the trickery is instead because they're playing Nick Fury and Agent Phil Coulson in the 1990s, when Captain Marvel is set.

The studio, which ushered Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and the Wasp into theaters in recent months, can now soon turn towards promoting in-the-works projects Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Brie Larson, the new addition to the MCU via Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's "90s retro superhero flick, has wrapped filming on the movie".
