Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are due to marry in the north east of Scotland on Saturday.

The bride wore a long sleeve ivory lace wedding dress, a white flower crown and cathedral veil and carried a bouquet of white roses. They are celebrating at Leslie's 12th-century family castle in Scotland.

Guests at the wedding include Game Of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke, actor Jack Donnelly and his partner, actress Malin Akerman.

And Rose arrived shortly afterwards, accompanied by her father, Seb Leslie.

Earlier Ms Leslie's father said he is "thrilled" for his daughter.

"Kit's known for ages he's wanted to marry Rose but he wanted them to get a house and settle down a bit first".

Mr Leslie said it was also a day of celebration for the region, adding: "It's a great day for Aberdeenshire".

The couple - who played the wildling Ygritte and Jon Snow in the hit HBO series - were showered with confetti by co-stars after the ceremony at the historic Rayne Church, close to her family's sprawling country estate and castle in Aberdeenshire.

The Game of Thrones cast and crew are now shooting the show's eighth and final season that will air next year, but Harington was adamant about making sure his co-stars could witness his nuptials. Fans of the series have been gathering outside Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple.

The 23 June date was posted at the Huntly registration office last month.

The pair confirmed their engagement by posting an announcement in the Forthcoming Marriages section of The Times newspaper.
