It seems likely then that James McAvoy's photo was referring to the first day of rehearsals on IT: Chapter 2, although there hasn't been an exact start date for principal photography quite yet.

Xavier Dolan and Will Beinbrink are the latest two actors to have been cast in the forthcoming IT Chapter Two movie. Meanwhile, Queen of the South's Will Beinbrink will play Tom Rogan, adult Beverly's abusive boyfriend.

And with production on the highly anticipated sequel commencing shortly (Deadline says recent reports stating filming has already begun were erroneous), key pieces of the puzzle are already falling into place, what with Andy Muschietti returning to direct, the kids from the first flick coming back in some capacity, along with the likes of Isaiah Mustafa, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan and James Ransone having signed up to play some of their adult counterparts. The younger Losers Club cast includes Sophia Lillis (Beverly Marsh), Finn Wolfhard (Richie Tozier), Jaeden Lieberher (BIll Denbrough), Jack Dylan Grazer (Eddie Kaspbrak), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben Hanscom), Wyatt Oleff (Stanley Uris) and Chosen Jacobs (Mike Hanlon).

The sequel is a time jump into the future but will still follow the now-grown members of the Losers' Club.

Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee and Dan Lin return as producers.

Dolan is a Canadian filmmaker who has been on the rise since his semi-autobiographical debut feature, I Killed My Mother at 19 years old. Warner Bros will release the film in theaters on September 6, 2019. In 2016, Dolan's It's Only the End of the World earned the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and César Awards for Best Director and Best Editing. Will Beinbrink recently starred in A Good Girl and he'll next be seen in Happenstance.
