"If we play with the same attitude as we did against Mexico, then nothing will change", the midfielder told reporters ahead of the World Cup Group F battle with Sweden on Saturday at Sochi's Fisht Stadium.

Speaking to the press at Germany's World Cup training camp, Sami Khedira showed some fleet mental footwork (should such a thing exist) to evade a cheeky ruse from a Swedish journalist.

"I don't think we will need that until 16 July", he replied.

The Juventus player, 31, smiled when he was handed the mocked-up ticket.

The final takes place in Moscow the day before.

"When you lose against Sweden on Saturday, you're already on your way home so I have some boarding passes for you and your teammates", the Swedish reporter said.

Khedira was often out of position in the defensive midfield when Mexico counter-attacked through the German ranks in the first half on Sunday.

"We have to play smarter, not like schoolboys, we have to play all together".

"I do not have a problem with it at all".

Loew described Khedira as "indispensable" before the World Cup started but the midfielder is aware of criticism levelled both at him and Kroos from Germany's defence. "We don't want to go back home".

'We analysed Sweden's game and we are sure we are winning this game'. "Now we have to deliver", said former Germany striker Miroslav Klose, who is serving as an assistant coach in Russian Federation.
