Suzuki Motor Corporation is pleased to announce the official release of outline information of the new Jimny model together with several images of the exterior, interior design and chassis layout.

It is pretty clear that there is a huge interest on the next-gen Jimny and this has been strengthened further today when a leak of the SUV without any camouflage surfaced online. The SUV is also expected to get dual tone treatment which will proffer the SUV with a premium appeal.

For the Indian market, it is expected that the vehicle will have an engine of 1.0 liter Boosterjet or upcoming 1.5 litre petrol engine as available in Ciaz. The full debut will take place very soon.

Suzuki has previewed the all-new Jimny.

While the newly launched Jimny specifications are still under wraps, but it has been revealed that it would come equipped with 5 powertrain option with engine capacity of 1.2 liter K12C DualJet and 1.0 liter K10 Booster engine and K12B 1.2 liter petrol engine, on the other hand Jeep compass with 1.4 liter and 2 liter engine, which means still Jeep Compass is scoring above.

More evolutionary than revolutionary, the new Jimny has a boxy profile, a new face with revised front grille and round headlights, while the cab looks updated but remarkably similar. However, the bigger Jimny Sierra version might be powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit. They will be offered as standard with a five-speed manual gearbox, but optionally available will be a four-speed automatic.

The fourth-generation model will launch first in Japan and is not expected on United Kingdom roads until early in 2019.

The new Jimny will stick to the previous model's mechanical layout engineered more for off-road ability than on-road comfort.

It's entirely possible Suzuki wasn't planning to reveal any official images at this point, but after a set of unofficial images from a presentation were leaked on the internet last week the company has now put these official renderings on its global website.
