The offer includes classic maps Erangel and Miramar and the all-new Sanhok, launching on June 22, according to a statement from the company. "One more thing: simply by playing and completing missions while they're available, you'll be able to unlock one free chance to change your in-game PUBG name".

Twenty items of clothing, four weapon skins, four XP boosts and eight BP boosts are all up for grabs with the pass, which costs $9.99, including a full guard and prison uniform, as well as beach-themed cosmetics. Due to the smaller map size, item spawn rates are tweaked in order to help players get equipped and into combat faster. If you haven't paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock numerous items (and earn one special item permanently).

Players who don't purchase the Event pass will still get to take cracks at these missions, but they will only receive temporary access to the cosmetic items with the exception of a single special item that will be permanently available once unlocked.

The Sanhok update also introduces the QBZ95 assault rifle. It also allows the developer to continue to provide premium content, as the war on loot boxes continues. There is also a playlist selector that can limit the map to only the new one, though you can do that with the map toggle anyway.

To celebrate the occasion, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is on sale for $19.99 on Steam, where it is regularly priced at $29.99.

After several rounds of testing, the third map for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Sanhok, is finally being added to non-preview PC servers this Friday.
