Four people wounded in Malmö shooting

Gunfire erupted shortly after 9pm local time (8pm BST) on Drottninggatan, a wide boulevard in the centre of Malmo. There was no information about how seriously wounded they were.

All five were taken to hospital after the shooting.

Officers are working to identify those injured.

Reports claim the gunman is on the run.

In a police statement obtained by The Express, the Swedish police said the motive for the attack was unknown and that there was no cause for public alarm.

The man reportedly fired an automatic weapon at the crowd, who were celebrating Sweden's 1-0 victory against Korea, this evening.

Police were questioning witnesses after sealing off the area where the shooting took place.
