While accepting the award for his role as Killmonger in the film Black Panther, Michael B Jordan said he was surprised that Roseanne didn't win the award for her role as a best villain.

"Receiving an award for playing a superhero is incredible, but it's even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life", Boseman said.

The "Black Panther" star was honored with the Best Hero trophy during the ceremony, and midway through his acceptance speech, he invited James Shaw Jr. on stage.

Shaw is responsible for stopping the gunman in a deadly shooting at a Waffle House in Tennessee in April that killed four people.

His co-star Jordan also won a golden popcorn bucket after being honoured as Best Villain in the film as a USA black-ops soldier who seeks to overthrow T'Challa. "You know, I thought for sure Roseanne had that in the bag, you know".

Keeping up with the Kardashians won Best Reality Series.

Accepting the award for "Best Villain" at the MTV Movie and TV Awards on Saturday, Jordan dropped a mad zinger on Barr, whose show was cancelled by ABC following her racist tweets about Valerie Jarrett, a top adviser for former President Barack Obama.

Actor Chris Pratt won the Generation award, a sort of lifetime achievement award. "There should be no space in this world for bullying and I'm not going to tolerate it, and neither should you", Brown said.

Stranger Things was named best TV show and Millie Bobby Brown, 14, won best TV performance for her role as Eleven.
