Twitter Lashes Out at Trump's Grammar After He Slams De Niro's IQ

"I watched him last night and truly believe me may be 'punch-drunk'".

Mr Trump defended himself against De Niro's attack by saying the United States economy was booming under his presidency. If so, we don't think this is gonna stick.

De Niro again criticized Trump in April during the opening night of the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.

Trump's De Niro sentiment was expressed just one hour after he had tweeted, "Heading back home from Singapore after a truly wonderful visit".

At Sunday night's Tony Awards, Robert De Niro was tasked with introducing Bruce Springsteen's performance of "My Hometown", but he used his moment on stage to make a quick political statement.

The star's comments were met with roaring applause from members of the audience at New York's Radio City Music Hall, who then took to their feet to give bold De Niro a standing ovation. "F-- Trump! It's no longer 'Down with Trump.' It's f-- Trump!"

One Trump supporter went so far as to argue that calling De Niro "low IQ" proved that Trump was not a racist, as he had directed the same insult against a black Democratic congresswoman.

De Niro's rant and the celebrities' fawning reaction embody everything the Hollywood elites claim to abhor yet were held up by the mainstream media, such as the Australian feed, as a proper and even moral statement of resistance. In January, De Niro referred to him as the "baby-in-chief" at the National Board of Review Awards.

About 15 minutes before posting about the actor, the president tweeted that he had gotten along great with Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader.

In March, the actor bashed Trump at the Fulfillment Fund fundraiser. But the live feed of the broadcasts being played in the press room was uncensored, leading to several Tony winners being asked about the head-snapping moment during their backstage press conferences.

De Niro apologized for Trump's "idiotic behavior" while in Toronto on Monday and said his actions were "a disgrace".
