An anonymous friend told the Sun: "We don't know what's gone on and we haven't spoken to him so we're in the dark".

Magazine reports, it is now unclear whether Niall has taken back control of his social media accounts, as the Islanders' families and friends usually run them while they are starring on the reality dating show.

The popular ITV2 series is a reality TV show that follows the journey of everyday singletons in their bid to find love in a luxury holiday villa.

Love Island fans were left truly gutted when it was revealed that Niall Aslam had quit the show stating "personal reasons", with only a few words being said on the show.

But Mirror Online now claim it was due to "health reasons", with Niall and Love Island bosses deciding it was time for him to leave.

This latest showdown could well have repercussions for Adam, with a recoupling coming up that will put the girls in charge of who they wind up partnered with, and we all know what happens to Islanders who don't get picked...

Taken aback by his sudden departure, Dr Alex admitted Niall will be missed by all as he reiterated how much of a "great guy" he is.

'And I look forward to catching up with him and having some fun with him outside'.

In the Beach Hut, Georgia reacts to Niall's exit, saying: "Obviously I was coupled up with him so obviously I came closer to him than most people in here but it wasn't just that".

'He was actually my friend, my buddy'.

Niall was one of this year's original islanders; he coupled up with Kendall Rae-Knight at the first coupling before Adam Collard arrived and stole her away.

Before entering the show, he said: "I am looking for love mainly".

"My biggest worry is being the first one voted out".

Love Island airs tonight from 9pm on ITV2 ans 3e.

This year's series kicked off on June 4 - and if you're going to survive the summer, understanding the world of Love Island is now a pre-requisite.
