Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Season Pass Confirmed

At E3 2018 Sony announced that PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) users are getting an additional game this month in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. What's even better is that this offer starts tonight (June 11, 2018).

Unfortunately, it seems the rumours of Black Ops 4 ditching its season pass aren't true - the Black Ops Pass will bring a total of 12 new maps, plus five new zombie experiences and four exlusive characters for the new "Blackout" (battle royale) mode. This includes the PlayStation exclusive Jungle, Summit, Slums and Firing Range. As long as you have an active subscription, you can head over to the PlayStation Store right now (through July 11th) and download the game for free.

A: No. The contents included in Black Ops Pass may only be purchased as a bundle. BOP content should be downloaded from the in-game store only; do not purchase separately, or you will be charged again.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC Oct. 19. The Black Ops Pass will be available standalone at a later date, but to get it on day one and reap the immediate benefits, you gotta upgrade.

This might be confusing for those that buy the standard edition of the game and want to get the season pass down the line. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 out later this year, it's a smart way for Sony and Activision to rope prospective consumers into the Black Ops universe.

Yet when this confusion came to light, the Activision Support FAQ quickly changed its tune. As more is learned about the game and the Black Ops Pass, however, this could change.
