According to A Bola, Martins could become a free agent this summer after a freakish training ground bust-up between Sportings players and fans has left numerous first team terminating their current contracts with the Portuguese giants.

Martins is among a host of Sporting Lisbon stars revolting against the club after a trouble-stricken season.

But the continued tension at the club has resulted in a number of players filing notice with the Portuguese Securities Market Commission to break their contracts - including winger Martins.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has flown to Russian Federation to hold talks with Martins and his representatives over a transfer.

Liverpool were thought to be considering making a move for Martins last summer before they finalised a deal for Mohamed Salah.

The storm brewing at Sporting Lisbon over the last month is threatening to unravel the club as they could lose players worth more than €100m on free transfers this summer.

The Gunners are seeking to add to an already impressive attacking stash, which can boast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Sporting Liston finished seventh in the league, three points off a European spot and 36 points behind champions Porto.

The Portuguese global has notched up 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last season, and his direct attacking style of play is something Pochettino has been craving to be part of his set up at Spurs.
