Trump also said that he and Kim will now participate in a joint signing - but did not give any indication as to what exactly the document contained.

And speaking several hours into their meeting, Trump said it had been: "A really fantastic meeting".

As per the Guardian, amid the handshakes and photo ops, Trump spoke of the "very comprehensive" agreement that would "take care of a very big and very risky problem for the world".

"I feel that Kim Jong Un wants to do something great for his people and he has that opportunity", NBC News reported Trump saying at a press conference in Canada at the weekend, prior to his departure for Singapore.

A slight smile crosses Kim's face as Trump places a hand on the North Korean Leader's arm.

According to Will Ripley, CNN correspondent who has visited North Korea 19 times, the interpreter with President Trump is Dr. Yun-hyang Lee, the division chief of interpreting services at the State Department.

"He won't have that opportunity again", the USA president added.
