Trump punches back at Robert De Niro

In probably the least surprising news ever, President Trump has responded to Robert De Niro's swipe at him from the stage of Sunday's Tony Awards.

"I watched him. and truly believe he may be "punch-drunk"," he said.

If Donald Trump is going to insult Robert De Niro's intelligence, he probably should learn how to spell "too". "It's no longer down with Trump, it's f-- Trump!"

"Bruce, you can rock the house like nobody else", De Niro continued.

De Niro has been an outspoken critic of Trump, even saying in May he barred the president from visiting any locations of his swanky restaurant, Nobu.

US President Donald Trump has paused from his string of tweets hailing the success of his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to react to an F-bomb outburst by actor Robert De Niro.

Hell, we're certain that Trump couldn't give a crap about having flawless grammar and it should be noted that De Niro did take the first verbal shot in their recent war of words, but if you're ever going to have a pop at someone's intelligence, make sure that you get it right on your own end.

There remains a bit of confusion as to why Trump would think De Niro would be "punch drunk" from boxing movies. At the 72nd annual Tony Awards on June 11, the Casino actor yelled out "f**k Trump", and like expected, POTUS is not happy.

Trump then went on to brag about the economy in a follow up tweet, adding a final jibe: "Wake Up Punchy!".

He said in Toronto: "I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behaviour of my president".

"It's a disgrace. And I apologize to Justin Trudeau and the other people at the G7".
