Road-going Porsche Mission E Concept to be called Taycan

Two models now sit in the Mission E portfolio with the first having debuted in 2015 as the Mission E concept (a more traditional sports coupe body) followed by the Mission E Cross Turismo that debuted this year as an electric soft-roader.

The Porsche Taycan will sit below the Porsche Panamera in the range, with prices starting around £60-70,000. "With different levels of power". This electric vehicle not only signifies the German carmaker's entry in the zero emission pure electric mobility sector, but the auto is also expected to bring many first ever features for the brand. "For example, when you have 400bhp, it could be possible to upgrade to 450bhp".

In other Porsche news, the company has also revealed a new concept in honour of its 70th anniversary.

It's expected that the Porsche Mission E will deliver exceptional acceleration, but its maker has also promised a 310-mile range. Austria charges 15 cents per minute on the 22 kW charging stations. The central location of the batteries and twin-motor set-up will also give the car's technical architecture a better front-rear weight balance than combustion-engined cars, potentially allowing Porsche's engineers to soften the car's anti-roll bars to aid ride without hindering handling.
