A raccoon that was apparently stranded on a skyscraper in Minnesota is now on the move after officials tried to rescue it, reports WCCO. They couldn't help, but they could share photos online.

Animal Control is calling a mission to rescue the raccoon too unsafe - for both the raccoon and the workers.

As the sun set in St. Paul, Minnesota Tuesday, this raccoon settled into his temporary home.

It's safe to assume at this point, the raccoon wants nothing more than to get safely home-and we're rooting for him all the way there.

With no balconies or windows that open, office workers inside the building were left to watch anxiously as the raccoon continued its climb.

A parody Twitter account for the little climber tweeted about his accomplishments and thanked his fans after he got to the top of the building.

"It was heartbreaking to see yesterday", Tim Nelson told the BBC on Wednesday.

News organisations even started live streaming the event.

"The world was watching & rooting for you!", said a Twitter user that goes by The Lockwood Echo in the United Kingdom.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" member Rocket Raccoon now has competition for the title of most popular raccoon.

The raccoon had other ideas.

At times, the animal's ascent looked death-defying.

But the raccoon seemed less scared than everyone else.
