The game was officially unveiled during Microsoft's E3 conference past year, and now a gameplay trailer was released.

Metro Exodus was originally slated to release this year; however, publisher THQ Nordic announced back in May that the game would now be coming in the first quarter of 2019. Check out the new trailer below.

Metro Exodus kicks off in the year 2036 following a devastating nuclear war, with a band of survivors barely clinging onto life in the Metro tunnels underneath the ruins of Moscow.

"4A are extremely proud to be showing 4K gameplay of one of our vast open levels exclusively on the world's biggest videogames stage", said Andriy Prokhorov, Creative Director and co-founder at 4A Games. He goes on an epic journey that spans the continent and goes across post-apocalyptic Russian Federation.

Deep Silver has released a new set of screenshots for Metro Exodus, showcasing some of its highly detailed characters and monsters.

The Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light games are based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro 2033 and Metro 2035 novels.

Metro Exodus will leave the station on 22 February 2019, for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the E3 trailer below and tell us what you think.
