Iran warns North Korea of the U.S

Confusion reigns on Capitol Hill after one senator claimed US Vice President Mike Pence said military exercises in South Korea will continue, contrary to statements made by President Donald Trump in Singapore.

First dates are always awkward, so just how did the small talk go?

Trump's statement was portrayed by critics as an unreciprocated concession.

While Japan is concerned about their citizens who were abducted decades ago by Pyongyang, the signed paper makes no specific reference to abductees in North Korea when referring to the repatriation of the remains of prisoners of war and people killed during fighting. "We just hope President Trump knows what he was getting into".

Trump left Monday's one-on-one talks touting success and the "excellent relationship" he now has with Kim. "However, the coordination with the South Korean military is absolutely critical".

Speaking briefly, hours after the historic talks in Singapore, Abe also said he was pleased that the U.S. leader had raised the emotive issue of Japanese abducted by Pyongyang.

"Once I got familiar with the culture and situation, I felt like I was at home", he said.

Their first moments together were picked apart for any clues about how the political heavyweights would match up.

But American military officials at the Pentagon or U.S. Forces-Korea say they have received no guidance on the cancellation of the exercises.

But it does point to a major concession the North believes was won from Trump and which was also not included in the final agreement, saying "Trump expressed his intention to halt the US -south Korea joint military exercises".

"War games are very expensive and we pay for a big majority of them. I'm very open minded to security agreements and to economic incentives to North Korea, but I am very close-minded when it comes to withdrawing our forces", he said.

After the summit, Trump said the process of repatriating remains would begin immediately. I knew things were going to change. We will be saving a tremendous amount of money.

'I think it should work out pretty well, ' Dennis told KIIS 106.5's The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Only hours before the summit, Mattis told Pentagon reporters that, as far as he knew, the issue of United States troops in South Korea would not be part of any discussion in Singapore. The U.S. would also stop joint military exercises in South Korea.

From 1950 to 1953 the Korean War waged on. "North Korea or South-North summit could take place when two former South Korea presidents are still behind bars", he added, showing support for former presidents Park Geun-hye and Lee Myung bak. During the 1990s, the United States suspended, and later canceled, an exercise known as Team Spirit as they attempted to persuade North Korea to allow inspections of its nuclear facilities.

In a statement, the top USA military headquarters in South Korea said Tuesday that it has "received no official updated guidance on execution or cessation on any upcoming training exercises".

There are also annual springtime drills.

This includes the Ulchi Freedom Guardian joint military exercises scheduled for the fall.

The announced suspension in military exercises alarmed some foreign policy experts in Washington who argued that the president was giving up a form of leverage over the North Koreans, and jeopardizing us alliances.

"The core of the US-South Korea alliance is the US troops stationed in South Korea and the joint U.S".

The issue's inclusion at the summit reflects the efforts of fierce lobbying by veterans groups in America, including Veterans of Foreign Wars, which wrote to Trump last week asking him to discuss the matter with Kim.
