Donald Trump Thinks He Can Mess With De Niro

De Niro, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of boxer Jake LaMotta in the 1980 film "Raging Bull", got a standing ovation at the Tony Awards on Sunday with his denunciation of President Trump.

After a weekend spent vying for peace, U.S. President Donald Trump is punching back against actor Robert De Niro, calling him a "low IQ individual".

Granted, we don't want that remark to sound too disparaging towards De Niro because we all know that he's an acting icon. At least these units aren't in charge of leading worldwide diplomatic efforts. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be "punch-drunk, '" Trump tweeted.

De Niro was introducing Bruce Springsteen, who is starring in a Broadway production of his own, which has sold out tickets for months. "F-k Trump!" As the audience erupted in cheers, De Niro quickly added, "It's no longer 'Down with Trump.' It's 'F-k Trump!"

How no one has looped that into one of those 10-hour videos of him just saying "Fuck Trump" over and over is beyond me.

Representatives for De Niro did not immediately return a request for comment. On Tuesday, De Niro apologized for "the idiotic behavior of my president" in a speech at the groundbreaking of a restaurant in Toronto, CNN reported.

Then on Monday, De Niro apologized to Canadians for Trump's insults after Trump called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "weak" and "dishonest".

Of course, De Niro has made no secret of his hatred for Trump - he previously said "Trump's so blatantly stupid".
