"This seriously sucks", she added in another tweet.

Demi Lovato was forced to cancel a concert in London due to a health concern regarding swollen vocal cords, the singer revealed on Sunday.

Speaking with the organiser, 23-year-old Abbie Foster, she told us that although "Lovatics" were "deflated and disappointed", with many already queuing outside the venue, but that they were determined to turn the situation into a positive and "launched into action" to organise a singalong for the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer.

"I'm so so so sorry to disappoint any of my fans in London that have traveled hours to be here by plane or auto, and to all of the fans that got these tickets for their birthday, holiday or any other special occasion".

She told fans via her Twitter account that she has swollen vocal cords and that she wouldn't pull out of performing unless she "absolutely had to". "It breaks my heart to let you down. I've never had to miss shows due to my vocal [cords] or being sick in my LIFE".

She finished her post by saying "Thank you for understanding".

The video found its way to the singer, who said the gesture "made me cry". The concert has been rescheduled for later in the month, so ticket-holders will still be able to see her perform. We hope the musician gets the rest she needs, and has a speedy recovery!

Looking exhausted and incredibly emotional, the singer clutched onto her throat as she strained to speak with a hoarse voice.

'Hey guys, I can't do the show tonight because I have no voice.

While a third added: 'Take good care of yourself, I'm sure everyone will understand and we know how much you love us, and how much it tears you apart when these things sadly happens.

The cancellation comes as she appeared on stage at Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on Saturday for a surprise performance alongside Clean Bandit.

Demi is slated to perform at AFAS Live in Amsterdam on June 18.
