It was a pleasant surprise when 13-year-old Courtney Hadwin started singing on America's Got Talent Tuesday night.

America's Got Talent is an American reality television series aired on NBC, and part of the global Got Talent franchise.

However, when it came time to actually audition, no one was expecting the kind of performance the shy teenage "AGT" hopeful was going to pull out. "I mean, genuinely incredible".

Before pressing the button, Howie raved about how Courtney's skills are "out of this era" before calling her the next Janis Joplin. The judge marveled, "You are not from this era". There's a story, if you ever watch the documentary. "It was the first time Janis Joplin got signed".

"I'm not Clive Davis, I'm Howie Mandel. I'm Howie Mandel. The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is give you..." Courtney danced around on stage, belting out the lyrics, while everyone in the audience was shocked by the young performer. Mandel said, just before hitting the golden buzzer.

Courtney had previously been a finalist on The Voice Kids UK, but has gained plenty of new fans - Twitter exploding after her performance.
