Arsenal to play Chelsea in International Champions Cup

A London Derby will take place across the Irish Sea this summer as Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea go head to head in a pre-season friendly at the Aviva Stadium.

Frustratingly, we still have no idea who will be holding the reins at Stamford Bridge when we lock-horns with Manchester City in the Community Shield.

The teams had originally been scheduled to face each other in Stockholm on August 4, but those plans had to be changed because FA Cup winners Chelsea play in the Community Shield that weekend.

The Blues will play three European International Champions Cup fixtures ahead of the 2018/19 campaign in what will be their fifth time competing in the International Champions Cup, but the first time they compete in Europe.

Chelsea had previously announced plans to play International Champions Cup fixtures in Poland and Sweden.

They will face the Serie A club in Nice at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on July 28, before heading to Dublin.

Club ambassadors for both Chelsea and Arsenal were in place to help announce the showpiece at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, with Tore Andre Flo and Ray Parlour both present for the reveal.
