Yes, Deadline reports that James Wan will be producing a remake of the classic 1990 spider flick via his company Atomic Monster and Amblin. And today we have word the film is getting a remake.

The film, which was unveiled on Monday, is at the early stages with no director, actors, or writers attached.

Wan, who's now helming Aquaman, will produce the remake through his Atomic Monster banner.

Jeff Daniels and John Goodman were among the stars of the movie, alongside 374 Avondale spiders hailing from New Zealand.

Harking back to the b-movies of the 50s and 60s, it found Jeff Daniels' small town GP discovering the terrible secret behind a series of local deaths, all of which turn out to be from a deadly species of spider brought back to the U.S. from the Amazon.

Amblin just recently produced Ready Player One and next week's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. While Atomic Monster is now in post production for their September release of The Nun.
