The mercurial forward posed for pictures this week in the official team kit, looking both in good shape and in high spirits.

Doubts persist over Salah's fitness but the Egyptian star said from the team's base in Grozny on Monday that he was "well-prepared" for the tournament.

It's Egypt first World Cup since 1990.

Salah jogged for about 30 minutes on Monday as his teammates trained on the same pitch in Grozny for the match in Ekaterinburg.

'He is doing (physiotherapy) sessions on his shoulder and working out in the gym, ' squad executive director Eihab Leheita said.

Drogba, who played for Chelsea between 2004 and 2012, was the previous record holder on 29 goals but Salah found the net 32 times during last season's league campaign to smash the Ivorian's record.

However Egypt team doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela placed some caution on any hopes Salah will play a part against Uruguay in their Group A opener this Friday. At the end, he is our son, ' Leheita said.

According to Don Balon, a Spanish outlet famous for its outlandish transfer claims, the 25-year-old has told Liverpool that he'll leave if they don't sign an alternative to Fekir.

Following an hour-long training session for the Celeste at their humble Bor training camp just outside the city of Nizhny Novgorod, Muslera said he wants Salah to fully recover from the shoulder injury sustained in the recent Champions League final.

The host nation will face Saudi Arabia at Moscow's 81,000-seat Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday, before taking on Egypt and Uruguay in their other two Group A matches.
