Dane originally broke into acting in the late 1980s with a role in the video game It Came From the Desert, but his first television part as the Father in Hunter followed soon after, setting into motion a career's worth of TV acting. Hank made his debut on the NBC sitcom during the season two episode "Drug Testing", which centered around the discovery of a joint in the office parking lot, and went on to appear up until the seventh season.

He starred as security guard Hank in 22 episodes of The Office between 2005 and 2013.

Dane's other TV credits included Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Boy Meets World, Friends, Roc and, most recently, The Mayor.

At the turned of the decade, he had small roles in a pair of popular raunchy film comedies: Little Fockers (2010) and Bridesmaids (2011) - both of which grossed more than $285M worldwide.
