National Cancer Survivor's Day is an annual celebration held on the first Sunday in June.

Organizers say it is all about a celebration of survivorship today and every day.

On National Cancer Survivors Day®, thousands gather across the globe to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and even inspiring.

Spectrum Health holds this special event to acknowledge those who have lived, or are now living, through this hard disease.

Piedmont Columbus Regional's Cancer Center is giving cancer survivors in the Chattahoochee Valley a chance to celebrate life. Whether they're diagnosed, now in treatment, or are cancer-free, all of these people are considered survivors.

This Cancer Survivors Day was part of a nation-wide effort.

The event offered food, games, and live music. The event will be hosted at East Waverly Park in Waverly from 1 to 4 p.m. There is free self-parking available in Ramp 3 off Michigan Street.
