The first trailer for Bumblebee: The Movie, a spin-off from the popular Transformers series, was posted online on Tuesday. Yellow Autobot Bumblebee has got his own self-titled solo film, with Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight behind the camera.

And as we discover, nothing is truer for Bumblebee and Charlie come to understand one another like no one else can - although in one of the trailer's more brilliant scene, it's clear he's not a fan of Charlie's music tastes, and namely Rick Astley. That's a change of pace from the nonsensical action of Michael Bay's five (!) Transformers films, and it'll be interesting to see how audiences respond.

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we're taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Bumblebee.

Also starring in the film are Jorge Lendeborg Jr, John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon and Stephen Schneider. We'll find out whether Bumblebee is the start of that when it hits United Kingdom cinemas on 21 December. The film is about the friendship between a young woman named Charlie and Bumblebee, on the run and living in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. From the second he turns those puppy-dog eyes on teenage girl Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld), it's love at first sight. When she revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary VW bug.
