Mariah Carey and James Packer arrive for the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at The Waldorf=Astoria on May 14, 2016 in New York City.

Mariah Carey has quietly sold the 35-carat diamond ring James Packer gave her in 2016.

"Mariah has been very vocal recently about her choice to move forward in her life surrounded by positivity", her publicist told the outlet.

"A confidentiality agreement was signed, but the jeweler is now selling it, and there's only one such ring", my source said.

An insider added, that Carey's team have been trying to keep the sale as quiet as possible.

Carey sold the ring at a significant loss for just US$2.1 (A$2.8 million) to a unnamed jeweller.

According to several reports, the ring, which was reportedly worth approximately United States $10 million (AUD $13 million), only sold for USA $2.1 million (AUD $2.7 million).

Carey is fighting what her reps claim is a "frivolous and baseless" lawsuit brought by her former manager, Stella Bulochni-kov, who claims Carey sexually harassed her by often being naked in front of her.

Insiders in Carey's camp are allegedly SUPER PISSED that this story was leaked, but it's a big deal that someone reportedly with so many assets would even want to sell the ring... which, FYI, is worth a reported $2.1 million. Last year, the two reached a financial settlement, with Carey reportedly making off with $5 million to $10 million, between cash and the ring.

In an interview with the Australian, he described their relationship as a "personal low in his life". Mariah is a woman of substance.
