The European soccer season comes to a close on Saturday, as Real Madrid and Liverpool meet in the Champions League final in Kiev.

Real Madrid's boss Zinedine Zidane (L) and Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp face each other in the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev on May 26, 2018.

The Reds' path to Kiev has not been borne of controlling games, but capitalising on isolated moments, with 29 of the team's tournament-high 40 goals coming from the front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. "You need to be up for it and in this club you can never let up, let alone in this competition, with the history this club has in it".

Real's 12 European Cup wins puts them way ahead of the rest, but Liverpool have lifted the famous trophy five times themselves, most recently in 2005, defying all the odds against AC Milan in Istanbul.

Klopp, who confirmed that he has no new injury concerns within his squad, has navigated a run to the final that has seen Liverpool score a record 40 goals in the competition this season - 10 more than Real.

'We are Liverpool, we are different, ' he told the media. He plays with the left, I play with the right. "I can't imagine that", added the coach, who has welcomed Emre Can back into his squad.

Salah said Real's past dominance would count for nothing once the whistle blew. You have to know something, he lives for games like this.

Of course, whether he acknowledges or not, he needs the players around him to create, lads in midfield like Luka Modric, Casemiro or Toni Kroos and I believe that this is where the game could be decided. We are not only a really good football team.

Slowed down by a five-game suspension for pushing a referee in the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona back in August, Ronaldo endured a barren spell of only four goals in the first half of the Liga season as Madrid fell way behind runaway leaders and eventual champions Barca.

"You hope to be in the final like everyone else that starts this campaign but to actually be in it is fantastic and hopefully it can be even better". Fox Sports and ESPN Deportes will broadcast the game live on TV and the former will also make it available on its streaming service.

"There's no lack of motivation, we're hungry and the fact we keep winning it is another reason to want to win it again".

Milner has been absolutely magnificent for Liverpool all season and he will do everything he can to hunt and harry Madrid's ball players.
