Chris Paul gives Steph Curry the shimmy treatment

Golden State, whose streak of 16 straight home playoff wins was halted by the Rockets on Tuesday, will try to fend off elimination when they host game six on Saturday. "We need a new challenge".

The Rockets have not reached the Finals since they managed it on successive occasions in in 1994 and 1995.

Asked if there was a chance Paul could return for a potential Game 7, D'Antoni said, "I don't know".

D'Antoni pulled him from the game, and concerns about Paul's hamstring issues, which limited him during the 2015 playoffs, immediately resurfaced.

The Warriors opened as a 10.5-point favorite for Game 6 at several sportsbooks.

However, that hasn't stopped him from checking out the Western Conference finals, where he got some amusement from seeing close friend, Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul, deliver a shimmying move on Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry in Game 5.

D'Antoni said trainers and doctors would "do whatever they can do" for Paul, and that if he's unavailable, it will be "time for somebody else to step up".

The team said Paul will be re-evaluated after the Rockets return from Saturday's Western Conference matchup against the Warriors, with Houston leading the best-of-7 series 3-2 entering Game 6 at Oakland, California. Two nights before, the physical Rockets found success overplaying Kevin Durant, knocking him off his spot and making sure every catch was hard.

In a game that saw 16 lead changes, the Warriors led by one going into the fourth quarter.

Draymond Green made a 3-pointer with just over minute left to get Golden State within one. He did not play the rest of the game. Both Games 4 and 5 could have gone either way. Paul, a nine-time All-Star, has never been to an NBA Finals in his 13 seasons. "We'll just continue to take it day-to-day".

But the bigger problem, and one Golden State will have to get ironed out to win this series, is Durant's penchant for going 1-on-1 so much, to the point where he and his teammates get tunnel vision.
