Samsung launches Galaxy S Light Luxury smartphone

The Galaxy A6 and A6+ will be available from May 22 on Amazon India.

Rumors have suggested that Samsung is working on a "lite" version of the Galaxy S8, basically trimming down some of the specs but retaining a few key features in the smaller, mid-range handset. No word on whether or not the Galaxy S Light Luxury will be arriving in other markets. The J6 will be sold via Flipkart.

Galaxy J6, A6 and A6+ will be available from tomorrow, while J8 will be available from June 20 onwards. However, J8 is only going on sale in July. This is all kept running by a 3,000mAh battery.

The 32 GB and 64 GB Galaxy A6 are respectively priced at Rs. 21,990 and Rs. 22,990.

Those who buy the Galaxy A6+ and A6 through ICICI Bank credit cards or Paytm will get an additional cashback of Rs 3,000. The devices will also be available on Paytm Mall.

The Galaxy J6, and Galaxy J8, are meanwhile, budget Samsung phones boasting of a plastic body and edge-to-edge Infinity display. There is support for microSD cards of up to 256GB. It has a battery of 3,000mAh capacity. It also runs Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.0 out of the box.

The promo of the Galaxy J6 is already up on the Twitter. Both cameras offer an LED flash, and the entire device is crafted from a metal unibody.

The Samsung Galaxy S Lite Price in said to be $625 in China (4,000 CNY). The Samsung Galaxy J6 comes in two RAM and storage variants. The company has also included Ai camera in the Samsung Mall. "The J8 has a 6" HD+ display, while J6 come with 5.6" HD+ display.

Internally, the J6 has the Exynos 7870 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, and a maximum of 64GB internal storage.

In terms of optics, J4 is likely to carry a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing sensor. While the primary camera has an f/1.7 aperture, the front camera comes with an f/1.9 aperture rate. The Galaxy A6 has an HD+ resolution at 720p, while the bigger Plus variant has a full HD+ resolution.

The Galaxy J6, on the other hand, has a 5.6-inch 720p+ Super AMOLED display and is powered by an Exynos 7 Series processor with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable by up to 256GB via a micro-SD card.

The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is positioned in the same divisive spot as the GS8, but interestingly enough, the S Light Luxury comes with a main 16MP f/1.7 camera that could be better than its forerunner's single 12MP f/1.7 rear shooter.
