Student Sabika Sheikh killed in Texas school shooting

Investigators say a 17-year-old admitted he went on a shooting rampage at a Southeast Texas high school that left 10 dead, majority students.

"My heart is so heavy for the students of Santa Fe High School". His aunt, Sarah Saunders, said Christian died a true hero.

Investigators also found explosive devices in and around the high school but said that none were functional.

He called his daughter's friends, but they weren't responding either.

"He gave a statement admitting to shooting multiple people inside the Santa Fe High School with the intent on killing people", the police affidavit said. She was coming back soon.

In addition to the nine students and one teacher killed, gunfire wounded ten people, with two of them in critical condition.

In the February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., the gunman used an AR-15 to kill 17 people. All of us at the US Mission in Pakistan are devastated by and mourn her loss.

Lysaght declined further comment when contacted by The Associated Press and referred calls to a State Department spokesman.

Sheikh was visiting the USA under the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programme, a State Department-funded programme that provides scholarships to Pakistani students to attend high school in the U.S. for a full academic year.

He is also a member of a dance squad at a local Greek Orthodox church and an avid videogame player, according to those who know him. The discovery process by prosecutors would take a long time, he said.

"A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like", she said.

Students said Pagourtzis was known for wearing a long black trench coat, unusual attire in a part of Texas that is often hot and humid.

She says Tisdale, who was in her 60s, was like a mother to her and helped her shop for wedding dresses past year.

Relatives said they remained "mostly in the dark about the specifics" of the attack and shared "the public's hunger for answers".

Philips said the program is looking to expand into five more school districts.

Olinde's fiance, Eric Sanders, says "words don't explain her lust for life and the joy she got from helping people". He had information on his computer and in journals saying that he wanted to commit the shooting and commit suicide, but "didn't have the courage" to kill himself, Abbott said. He was a junior.

Santa Fe High School is still "an active crime scene".

The family of Shana Fisher has accepted the offer, her mother confirmed to KHOU.

Her family isn't being allowed to see her body yet.
