With reports of their demise proven premature, the Tampa Bay Lightning will look to even their Eastern Conference Final with the Washington Capitals when the teams meet in Game 4 on Thursday night.

Hedman had a goal and an assist as the Lightning scored twice on the power play and cut the Capitals best-of-seven series lead to two games to one.

Brett Connolly and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored goals for the Capitals, who are 7-1 in the playoffs on the road following a dominating 6-2 win in game two in Florida.

Lars Eller has done a good job filling in at centre on the second line, but Backstrom is one of the most underrated players in the National Hockey League.

"You miss him in every way, shape or form", Capitals coach Barry Trotz said in a Washington Post story by Isabelle Khurshudyan on Wednesday.

"We can take a few things that we've done on the road and put it into our home game", goalie Braden Holtby said.

Trotz notices a difference in his players' attitude on home ice, saying: "It's us against the world when were on the road". We can say the Lightning improved each time out after a poor showing in Game 1, especially in how they protected the inner slot.

Washington will look to end the visiting streak in this series.

"Those are some of the top two, top 10, in my opinion, goal-scorers in the League with those two guys", Capitals forward Alex Chiasson said. Each of Stamkos' power-play goals in the first two games came off a pass from Kucherov that went through the middle of Washington's penalty-killing diamond.

In the 14th minute, Steven Stamkos acute angle with the throw under the crossbar, opened the scoring in the second period, "Tampa" managed to make two more effective attacks.

When the Capitals concentrated on closing that lane in Game 3, Hedman had more time and space to operate from the point.

"The struggle right now is that balance", Beagle said. I'm not going to give anything away. We were just off a little bit, and you can't be off in this game to have success.
