Before The Memorial gets underway, Woods will play in the May 30 pro-am event with former National Football League quarterback Peyton Manning.

The American officially added the tournament to his busy schedule as he looks to get in shape prior to the US Open.

This is not surprising, as Woods is healthy and intends on playing a lot this year, but still, it's exciting to see Tiger back on the course consistently.

Five-time champion Tiger Woods will play in the Memorial Tournament in OH for what is likely to be his final event before next month's US Open. He last played in 2015 when he finished 71st and shot his worst round in his PGA Tour career, a third-round 85.

The event is scheduled to start at the end of this month on 28 May and will conclude on 3 June.

The retired star quarterback and iconic golfer are set to join forces May 30 for the pro-am at The Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. World No. 1 Justin Thomas, Masters champion Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and defending champion Jason Dufner are confirmed for the Golden Bear's marquee event.

"This weekend was extremely positive", Woods said after the Players.

The former world number one won this tournament three years running from 1999 and then again in 2009 and 2012. "I have been so impressed with Tiger during his comeback, and as I said last weekend, I think he is on the verge of winning for the first time in several years".

Woods will make his 16th appearance in the tournament.
